Children are
arguably God’s greatest gifts to couples. God also delights greatly in
children-the Holy Book tells us. It is therefore always exciting whenever a new
child enters into a family.
This was why there was so much joy
in the Sola Bakare family when they joyfully dedicated newly born Deborah Motunrayo
before God, family and friends at the Redeemed Evangelical Mission, Utako branch
in Abuja.
That was not all, it was indeed
a double celebration for the Bakare family, because apart from the baby
dedication, the family was also celebrating the 45th birthday of the baby’s
mum, Mrs. Toyin Ajoke Bakare.
The two-in-one event kicked off with
an opening prayer by the officiating minister, Pastor Max Egbinijie, followed
by the opening hymn steered by the church choir.
During the service, Pastor Egbinijie,
presented Motunrayo to the congregation and vows were made by her parents to
raise her in the Vineyard of the Lord. During the
sermon, the man of God advised the parents to nurture and teach their daughter
the word of God, so that she will desire to love God and love others, quoting
scriptures to buttress his point. After the couple had affirmed their promises,
the man of God prayed for the family and then a moment of thanksgiving followed.
After the church service, a
grand reception was held at Rivers Place Event Center, where Mrs.
Bakare launched her foundation, Akdeb. The birthday
girl stepped out in purple iro and buba with a sliver
head gear alongside her humble husband who was sparkling his own ensemble.
