Sara, daughter
of one of Benin’s finest gentlemen and top business mogul, Alhadji Daouda Lawal
recently tied the knots with Armiyaou Mama in Cotonou.
The lavish ceremony which spanned
three memorable days in Cotonou and Calavi began with the customary lali ceremony
at the bride’s mother’s home at the Zongo quarters in the hub of Cotonou. Culture
held sway at the very colorful event thanks to the ladies in both families who
performed the age-long ritual of pampering her with exotic tatoo and spoiling
the bride with boxes full of goodies sent by the groom as was required by
tradition.
The shy but very handsome groom
did not let his princess down in any way. The next day witnessed an even
greater gathering of friends, associates, colleagues, well-wishers and family.
The day began with the Civil wedding at the Golf Course of Marina
Hotel
which was officiated by the Mayor of Cotonou himself, Mr. Lehady Soglo.
