EMMANUEL YAWSON IS STAR OF THE FUTURE

And the winner is….Emmanuel Yawson, and the whole audience erupted in applause marking the finale of the now very popular Ghanaian music reality show, Stars of Future for 2011. Emmanuel beat Daniella Dankwah-Coffie, Noela Wiyaala and Kwame Wiredu at a keenly contested event which like all Charterhouse powered shows was excitedly turbo-charged, colourful and filled with celebrities.

Hint that the night will be fun galore was given when the contestants opened the show with a well synchronized rendition of R. Kelly’s popular number, Sound of Victory.

GHANAIAN COMEDIAN, FUNNY FACE

Benson NanaYaw Oduro Baoteng popularly known as Funny Face is one of the rising stars of Ghanaian comedy. The very humble guy took us through his grace to grace story in this interview.

What were you doing before comedy
I was doing comedy underground, comedy has always been in me actually. I find joy in making people laugh so I have been doing comedy like forever.

How has your upbringing influenced your career
One thing is that I will always give God the glory for bringing me this far because where I was born you will not think I would come this far. I give God the glory. I never thought it will be so soon. Where I was born has really influenced me. With the hustling in James Town, Kantamato, arena, etc. I mean, the poverty there, you had to be creative to survive and it gave me good materials.

THE MAN SOUTH AFRICANS CALL PROFESSOR

All the clubs, TV and radio stations in South Africa are on the roll at the moment. They have all caught the music virus that is being spread by the energetic guy simply called Professor.
His album, University of Kalawa Jazmee is ruling the airwaves and the video of the track, Lento has been on MTV Base top ten for six weeks running!
Professor came into limelight in 2005 with the hit song Woza Durban featuring Tzozo and many felt he will be a one hit wonder.

JULIUS AGWU’S FESTIVAL OF LOVE

Top Nigerian Comedian, Julius Agwu who has carved a niche for himself in recent years with the introduction of different comedy shows, took Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital by storm during the Valetine season with a new show dunned “ Festival of Love” held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel.

In his opening remarks, Julius said the real motive of the show was to spread love, he then went on to titillate the audience with good quality standup comedy session.

Other young comedians also performed and there was first class musical performance from Onyeka Onwenu, Darey and Waje.
